Backup and restore emails in cPanel webmail – Roundcube

You can use one of the following links to access cPanel webmail: http://yourdomain.com/webmail

  • Download

    1. Click the email which you want to backup.

      Click the email which you want to backup.

    1. Click “More” then choose “Download (.eml)”.

      Click “More” then choose “Download (.eml)”.

    1. Emails will be downloaded as .eml* file.

  • Restore

    1. Click the “Gear Icon” and choose “Import messages”.

      Click the “Gear Icon” and choose “Import messages”.

    1. Select the backup file and click “Upload”.

      Select the backup file and click “Upload”.

*Remark:  .eml files are supported by most of the email services, so you can easily restore them later on different servers. Unfortunately, Roundcube does not provide convenient functionality to download many emails at once,so if you want to backup the whole folder or account, we recommend using Horde instead.
